Q1:  Can the software and Activote handsets be used with any make of Whiteboard (e.g. Smart) or just with Promethean whiteboards?

A1:  Both the software and the Activote handsets can be used with any make of whiteboard, including Smart boards.  It can also be used with a digital projector and ordinary screen.  The individual mode on the CD can be used by students on network machines.

Q2:  Do you have to have Promethean Activote handsets to use the Question Sets software?

A2:  No.  Teachers can set it for whole-class tests but the automatic marking and analysis can only work if the handsets are purchased as well.  Even without the handsets the automatic marking and analysis will work for individual students using the software on a PC.

Q3:  Will other voting devices (e.g. Quizdom) work with the software?

A3:  No.  The only electronic marking handsets that work with this software are the Activote handsets.  The software can still be used, however, without handsets for whole- class work (see Q2 above) and for individuals on a network machine.

Q4:  The Activote handsets come with Activstudio 3 (secondary schools) and Activprimary (primary schools).  Will these work with any make of whiteboard?

A4:  Yes.  Activstudio 3 and Activprimary will work with Smart or any other type of whiteboard.

Q5:  Can teachers make up their own questions for use in the software?

A5:  Yes.  The Editor mode allows teachers to customise existing tests, to edit existing questions and to make up their own for any topic and at any level.

Q6:  My school already has Promethean whiteboards and Activote handsets.  Will the software work with my whiteboards?

A6:  Yes.  You will need to ensure that you have the latest Activdriver (on the CD) and the software should run without any other purchase.

Q7:  I understand that there is a home version of the software for students.  How do they purchase it?

A7:  Yes.  They can download the Individual mode of the software from our website www.robertpowellpublications.com
