7. Saving and Save as a Project

Saving

EyeWrite allows the individual components of a Concept Map to be saved individually - Map, Images and WordHoard. This is useful if the learner decides to use any of them (Map, Images or WordHoard) in another project. The same words might be used for a talk or for an essay and the Map for each might be different. Images can also be used for different purposes and the Map itself might have different links if it were being used by a teacher with classes of different ages.

Saving as a Project

All three components can be saved together, however. Users who have saved a WordHoard, an Image file and a Concept Map on a particular topic and who wish to open it later may choose to Save as a Project. This will mean that next time this Project is opened, it will bring in all the components at once – the WordHoard, the Images and the Map along with any Hyperlinks.

Saving in this way is particularly useful if the user is going to continue the planning at home and needs all components on a memory stick.
